I LOVE HIM! I LOVE HIM! I LOVE HIM!
He is seriously brilliant, the way he spoke, the speech of course, it was just amazing! I mean, I realize he won a peace prize and still spent a lot of his speech talking about war, but still. The way he presented the subject and talked about why sometimes war is necessary because of human folly, he is such an amazing person. It takes guts to do what he did, speaking in such an honest way and about such challenging subjects, and few men, no less an american presidents have the ability and strength to do such a thing. I must admit I really admire a man like that, despite the fact that I am myself opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which he himself admitted that he was currently in control of, despite the fact that it is probably known to everyone that he was not the one to start them. I do however believe he will be able to put an end to it, I have faith in him, and no matter what people might say, when I look at his face, I see the future and it makes me smile to know that our world is in the hands of such an amazing person!
I realize a lot of people think it's too early for a peace-prize, and I must admit that when I first heard he had been nominated for it, the exact thoughts crossed my own mind, but after today my mind has forever been changed
I don't feel that this price is a reward for deeds already done, but a sign of expectation and belief. I believe the nobel committee gave him the prize to show him that they expect him to keep his promise about change and a better world, and it was not only a great honor and prize, but also a burden to commit to solving all the issues he promised to solve and show the world he does deserve the prize.
He is only human after all, you cannot save the world that quickly, and he was right in saying you cannot achieve peace just by wanting it, I truly hope and believe change the world, and the peace prize might help him keep on going when things get tough, which I know they will.
But anyway, go Obama and congratulations on the Nobel Peace Prize!
....
Ok, one last confession, a little less political, but I just have to admit that when I watched Obama step forth on the balcony on live tv, tears were rolling down my cheeks and a smile was reaching across my face, but what else am I supposed to do when I'm watching the future of our world standing right in front of my eyes with the most beautiful and brilliant smile I've ever seen, I just wanted to hug him!
